Gratitude

I am grateful

For this life above all lives because I met the Mother, received my initiation from Her and had Sri Aurobindo's Darshan.

For every breath I take, for with each inhalation I aspire to take Mother's name.

For the many difficulties life has put before me for through them I have grown.

For the tears I have wept for others as they have increased my possibility to love.

For the many friends who remember me, not only on my birthday, but often.

For those who are antagonistic towards me or speak against me, for they teach me humility.

For the birds that come to my window to feed, bringing joy to my heart.

For the gift each morning to be able to remember the Divine.

For the gift each noonday to be able to remember the Divine.

For the gift each evening to be able to remember the Divine.

For the peace that is coming more often and the silence that surrounds me.

For the opportunity each day, no,at each moment, to look towards the Light.

For those who love me in spite of my many flaws and inadequacies.

For the pains I have suffered for they have helped break the ego's shell.

For the Grace that has opened me to Savitri.

For the gifts of music and poetry and the OM Choirs that bring down the New Music.

For Uday, for the love he has showered upon me, for allowing me to work on the website, motherandsriaurobindo.org, for sharing with me, as a true brother, some of his most profound experiences.

For the living memory of placing my head on Mother's feet.

For the blessing to have been granted the blessing to meet Sri Aurobindo in his home in the subtle physical when I was very young and in later years when he let me massage his feet.
